Class Rooms
The Dept of Mechanical engg has a total of 8 classrooms and 2 tutorial rooms for UG program. There are 11  well equipped labs with advanced equipment’s and machines. The department also has a Research & Development Lab. The above facilities are shared by UG programs. The department library has a wide range of technical books and journals for UG students. There are 2 faculty rooms in the department of which the Professors and Associate Professors are provided with individual faculty cubicle.

Seminar Hall
The department has a fully equipped 2 seminar halls with LCD projector facility for a capacity of 100.

Details of Laboratories:

1) Workshop Laboratory
Engineering Workshop lab having Electric arc welding equipment’s and Bench wises. Students will learn to demonstrate and produce different types of fitting models.  The students gains the knowledge in development of sheet metal models and understanding their applications. Performing soldering and welding joints and understanding the basic workshop practices

2)  Computer Aided Engineering Drawing Lab
Lab is well equipped with computers and are used to teach industry oriented softwares like solid edge and CAM Software. Students will able to create solid parts in the software’s and they will able to do assembly operations.

3) Material Testing Lab
Material Testing Lab is having Universal Testing Machine, Compressive Test Machine, Impact testing Machine, Furnace, Brinell, Rockwell and Vickers’s Hardness testing machines and different types of testing machines. Students will acquire experimentation skills in the field of material testing.

4) Foundry and Forging Lab
Foundry and Forging Lab consists of Split pattern, Match plate pattern, Core boxes, foundry tools, forging tools, Sieve Analysis machine, permeability meter and Universal Sand Testing Machine. Students will gain the knowledge and necessary skills to perform sand testing and preparation of moulds, metal forging operations.

5) Computer Integrated Manufacturing Lab
The lab is well equipped with computers and having ANSYS software–Mechanical APDL, CIM Machining Software. Students will able to demonstrate the basic features of an analysis package, using the modern tools to formulate the problem and able to create geometry, apply boundary conditions to solve problems of bars, truss, beams, plate to find stress with different loading conditions.

6) Machine Shop Lab
Machine shop Lab consists of lathe machines, grinding Machines, Shaping Machines, and Milling Machines for students to understand the various machining operations. Students will be able to understand the cutting tool parameters of single point cutting tool & multipoint cutting tools.

7) Mechanical Measurement and Metrology Lab
Lab is provided with Screw Gauge, Vernier Calipers, Optical Sets, Bevel Protractor, Sine Bar, Sine Center, Tool Maker Microscope, Gear Tooth Micrometer, and Optical Flats. Students will able to understand the basic measurement units and able to calibrate various measuring devices and express error and correction factors of various measuring devices.

8) Fluid Mechanics Lab
Lab is equipped with Orifice meter, Nozzle Meter, Venturimeter, two stage reciprocating air compressor, Pelton Wheel, Francis Turbine & Kaplan turbine. Students will able to determine the coefficient of discharge of flow measuring devices and energy flow pattern through the hydraulic turbines and pumps.

9) EnergyConversion Lab
Lab is provided with two stroke engines, four stroke engine, valve timing, and viscosity measuring instruments. Students will able to determine the properties of fuels and oils and test basic performance parameters of I.C. Engine.

10) Heat and Mass Transfer Lab
Heat and Mass Transfer lab consists ofvapor compression testing machine, vapor compression air conditioner, heat exchangers and Vapor Compression Refrigerating machine. Students will able to learn the practical concepts that relate to    Heat & Mass Transfer course and determine the thermal conductivity and heat transfer coefficient in various materials.

11) Design Lab
Design lab is equipped with Gyroscope, strain rosettes, Governors, strain gauge, journal bearing, Porter & Hartnell Governor and Strain rosettes. Students will able to relate the concepts discussed in Design of Machine Elements, Mechanical Vibrations & Dynamics of Machines courses and understand the working principles of machine elements such as Governors, Gyroscopes.
